Kalnirnay Calmanac 2022
Kalnirnay is a brand most would be aware of, with their calendars having a distinct style that’s easily recognizable. Motion Dime was tasked with the creation of their English calendars, their Calmanac 2022 lineup. While designing their calendars, we sought to keep their distinct style intact as we built those calendars around their pre-existing branding

For fonts, we went for a stylized sans serif typeface for the text, while the numbers were kept as 'Helvetica', which has now become an important part of their identity. Utility Calmanac has a very unique appeal that the typeface 'American typewriter'is an integral part of regarding the numbers.
We've kept the brand colours of Kalnirnay intact, namely, their vibrant blue and their magenta. As for the calendar colour coding, we went for more of a muted tone to contrast with the vibrantly coloured numbers.
Utility Calmanac
The Utility Calmanac is Kalnirnay's flagship product. This Calmanac gives you simplified information about the Panchang, auspicious days, festivals, holidays, sunrise, and sunset. It also consists of recipes, stories on health and education, monthly Bhavishya and articles on Hindu astrology. The fonts chosen for Utility Calmanac are American typewriter for the numbers and Rubik for the lettering and information.
About the Planets
One distinct change from the previous Utility Calmanacs is the column denoting the days of the week. Instead of a plain background, we've added various planets corresponding to each day.
Big Office
Kalnirnay Big Office is a premium size large calendar designed for office spaces, with places to note down big events. It's also equipped with festivals, holidays, and auspicious days. For the typeface, the numerical, as well as the lettering, is Helvetica.
Small Office
Also designed for Office spaces, Small Office is smaller in comparison to its counterpart, with spaces for writing down important tasks as well as information regarding festivals, holidays and auspicious days. The typeface used is Helvetica.
Car Calmanac
Car Calmanac is designed for use in Cars. It has information about festivals and holidays, as well as color-coded events to inform you of the full/new moon, Chaturthi, and more. The typefaces used are Helvetica for the numbers and Rubik for the lettering.
Desk Calmanac
Desk Calmanac is designed for use in the office or home desk areas. It has information about festivals and holidays, as well as colour-coded events to inform you of the full/new moon, Chaturthi, and more. The typefaces used are Helvetica for the numbers and Rubik for the lettering.
3 IN 1 Calmanac
Kalnirnay Cubical 3 in 1 is another calendar targeted for office spaces, where you can note down the tasks of the day, as well as see what the month looks like. It's got a compact style where there's one main month at the center and the previous as well as the coming month on the top and the bottom. For the typeface, we've used Helvetica for the numerics and Rubik for the lettering.
Testimonial
We at Kalnirnay have been making minor changes to our designs for our yearly Calmanac. In 2021 we decided to inject freshness into the look and feel of the Calamanc. Instead of creating and designing the Calamanac in-house, we outsourced it to Motion Dime. They did a brilliant job.
